Executive Search: Dean of the School of Communication and Information

Rutgers–New Brunswick is seeking an experienced and visionary leader and scholar to serve as Dean of the School of Communication and Information. The School of Communication and Information (SC&I) at Rutgers University is dedicated to equipping students with the tools to succeed in the broad areas of communication, journalism and media, and library and information science, while addressing critical societal challenges like civic engagement, public health, and democracy through cutting-edge research and innovative teaching. We aim to identify a thoughtful and dynamic leader who will advance the school’s mission with a strong commitment to excellence and equity.

  • Members of the School of Communication & Information community are cordially invited to meet each of the three SC&I dean finalist candidates at a series of upcoming community forums. These forums are an opportunity for you to hear directly from the candidates about their interest in the School of Communication & Information, and to learn more about them through a moderated Q&A session.

    Please complete the registration form and RSVP for each forum. We welcome you to submit your questions for the moderated Q&A through this form as well. The deadline to register is Friday, February 28.

  • Members of the School of Communication and Information were invited to join listening sessions with our partners at AGB Search to gather input on a range of topics that will help guide the search committee in identifying the next dean. Listening sessions for faculty, staff, and students were scheduled as follows:

  • The search committee was formed by the Office of the Chancellor in collaboration with the leadership of the school and with the aim of creating a broad and representative group. The primary role of the committee will be to develop the leadership profile, aid in the evaluation of the candidates, interview potential candidates, and make a recommendation to the chancellor.
